Anglesey (Rhosneigr)
Golf Club

Anglesey Golf Club Rhosneigr, is situated on the beautiful isle of Anglesey and is a must for anyone who loves golf. A stunning course and the very same links where Dr Frank Stableford worked on his World renowned scoring system.

A Brief History of Anglesey Golf Club

Dating back to 1914 the club was formed as a collaborative project between a number of local notables, including Charles Henry Palethorpe and James Ravenscroft. These two, in common with two other local businessmen – Charles A. Mills and Dr. H. Stinton Lowe – arranged to rent an area of Common Land (from the Conservators) and employed one Harold Horsfall Hilton to create a golf course. Hilton was a native of Cheshire and a golfer of stature. He won the Open in 1892 and 1897 and was the US Amateur Champion in 1911. So, we have a great pedigree. In October 1914, the Anglesey Golf Club opened its doors as an eighteen-hole links course and the rest, as they say, is history.

A view towards Snowdonia National Park and this beautiful 9th Green here at Anglesey Golf Club.  This 412 yard par 4 is fairly straight but keep your drive to the fairway and you may walk away with a birdie.

The greens here at Anglesey are beautifully maintained and really responsive. Boasting to be the only true linx course on the Island, the course here at Rhosneigr is not to be missed.

Over the 18th green and towards the club house is a welcoming sight, especially if you have felt the brunt of the Anglesey weather. A tricky approach over water and with wind certainly factor in, chose you club wisely and strike with confidence.
