West Derby Golf Club
Golf Club

West Derby Golf Club, which celebrated its centenary in 1996, is a mature parkland course with lush fairways and excellent greens. At 6,090 yards the par 71 course is relatively short but is very tight in parts.

A Brief History of West Derby Golf Club

West Derby golf Club was founded in 1896 when land was bought from Yew Tree Farm for the creation of a nine-hole layout. In 1923 this was increased to 18 following the acquisition of Leyfield Farm.

A view across the 5th green and back down the fairway towards the tee. This fairly sized green makes for a great landing zone if you manage to avoid the Oak tree and large bunker guarding it.

This dog leg left par five 16th hole is a dream for the longer hitter. Fairway right is the aim leaving you a lengthy approach across water and may well be a blind shot across the trees to the right of the picture if your drive is short.
